Refined Floors is a family-owned flooring company in Williamsburg, Virginia, built by us, Mark and Kristin Kelley, together with our family.

Mark’s career in the flooring industry began more than 20 years ago in Southern California. What started as a part-time job while he was in college quickly turned into a long-term passion and a deep understanding of flooring products, installation, and what homeowners truly need. Over the years, Mark gained experience in flooring sales, management, and product education, working with everything from carpet and hardwood to luxury vinyl plank.

In 2014, we moved our family from California to Williamsburg in search of a better pace of life and a community where our kids could grow up rooted and connected. We quickly knew this was home. The idea of owning our own flooring company had always been there, and in 2019, that vision became reality with the launch of Refined Floors.

Our business has grown alongside our family. Our kids have watched it take shape from the ground up, learning the value of hard work, pride, and doing things the right way. That sense of care and responsibility carries into how we run Refined Floors every day.

We intentionally designed Refined Floors to offer a better flooring experience. From shop-at-home flooring consultations to our appointment-only design center, our goal is to make choosing flooring feel easy, organized, and personal. We take the time to explain options clearly, recommend what truly fits your home and lifestyle, and ensure every installation is completed with care and craftsmanship.

When we’re not working, you’ll usually find us spending time with our kids, playing or watching golf, traveling whenever we can, and enjoying life with our golden retrievers, Dolly and Taylor. Those same values shape how we approach our work and the relationships we build with our clients.

Refined Floors isn’t just our business. It’s something our family built together, and we’re grateful to serve the community we call home.
